CGI U 2017 U Network Seal

The Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) Network is a consortium of colleges and universities that support, mentor and provide seed funding to leading student innovators and entrepreneurs. MSU is a member of the CGI University Network.

President Bill Clinton launched the CGI U to engage a growing network of young leaders who are developing innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. To attend the CGI U Meeting that is held each spring, students are required to develop a Commitment to Action: a new, specific and measurable plan, in one of the five focus areas,  that addresses an issue on their campus, in the their local community or around the world. The CGI U’s five focus areas are:

  1. Education
  2. Environment and Climate Change
  3. Peace and Human Rights
  4. Poverty Alleviation
  5. Public Health.

Students can submit an idea online. Students will be notified whether they’ve been invited to the CGI U annual meeting. MSU encourages students to apply, and assistance is provided both with their Commitments to Action and with the development of their ideas if they’re selected to go to the CGI U meeting.
